Musical Performance by the Award-Winning Castro Valley High School Madrigals and Update on the the Rotary Club Charitable Foundation and Charitable Endowment Presentation Summaries The Madrigals are the premier auditioned ensemble at Castro Valley High School selected from juniors, seniors, and a very few select sophomores through a rigorous audition process. These students study and perform advanced levels of choral literature composed specifically for small ensembles. Each year they compete in high stakes choral competitions, including Northern California's prestigious Golden State Choral Competition, and routinely earn Superior ratings. In 2018 the Madrigals earned the honor of First Place Chamber Choir in the state of California. Cliff Sherwood will provide an update on the Castro Valley Rotary Club Community Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation which was established to manage an endowment whose earnings will support community projects in Castro Valley exclusively. The Foundations's largest project this year was the “Light up the Adobe” project showcased at the September 18th Gala. It is never too late to donate! Dan Willits will provide an update on the Rotary Club of Castro Valley Endowment, established in 1988 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and explain how donations have helped Castro Valley High School students in the past and will continue to do so the future. |
