Castro Valley needs a community foundation. The Castro Valley Rotary Club Community Foundation serves this role for these reasons:
1. To fund an endowment that provides annual funding of projects and needs of the Castro Valley community, such as lighting Castro Valley’s historic Adobe.
2. To receive gifts and bequests that provide these benefits for our town in perpetuity.
3. To be invested and administered with integrity.
4. To do so with no administration overhead.
4. To do so with no administration overhead.
Our financial goal is to build the endowment to $1M, with $100K being the first step.
Each year, a set percentage of our endowment is distributed to support community programs selected by the Rotary Club of Castro Valley:
1. 2% when endowment reaches $100,000 - $500,000
2. 3% when endowment reaches $500,000 - $1,000,00
2. 3% when endowment reaches $500,000 - $1,000,00
3. 3.5% when it exceeds $1,000,000
All donations remain 100% Castro Valley—no overhead, no outside causes.
