May 5, 2015 Castro Valley RotaryPROGRAM - Today’s program was a tremendous, wonderful, spectacular concert by Francisco Galvez and Gregory Alvarez as we celebrated Cinco de Mayo.  Simply a great celebration with talented musicians sharing their talents!   A great start for Randy Vanderbilt as he kicks off his month as Program Chair ...

Sue McKinney shared what is going on with Interact and a container full of 2200 soccer balls being shipped to Vietnam this summer . . . these balls are indestructible and reinflate themselves (really!) . . . she auctioned off one of the balls for the project and ended up having three buyers at $40 each (Bill Nott, Dr. Heidi and Bruce Johnson) . . .

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – From Bruce Johnson - complete the five sayings below like you are a six year old (answers at the bottom):
An Elementary School Teacher had twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are first-graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!

LESLIE ROTHWELL UPDATE - Follow Leslie’s recovery on CaringBridge.org . . . inspiring to watch her progress!
NOTE: This week’s Castro Valley Rotary COG will be posted on www.castrovalleyrotary.org by Ken O-Donnell. Blessings!
