PROGRAM - Our final program of President John’s year was Tom Lorentzen, Writer and Castro Valley Historian, speaking on the “Mystery of History.”   Tom has been writing in the Castro Valley Forum for the last 10 years “From the Boulevard.”  He was celebrating the anniversary of an accident when he was run over at 4 years old by his father in his father’s Buick.  It is truly amazing that the car went over his thighs yet did not break his legs, although it took several months for him to recover.  Tom said he hasn't had a bad day since 1950.  He discussed Eden Hospital and how great it was for the community.  He also watched Castro Valley grow including Chabot Theater, Eden Hospital and Castro Village.  He shared that A.B. Morris was pivotal to the building of our town (school later named after him).  He talked about the building of the elementary school and the building of a community center as the center of our town.  We are the beneficiaries of some wonderful people who had forethought about our town.   A town like ours is the heart of our country.  Thanks, Tom!

LOOKING FOR THE WHITE MARBLE - With the $20 and 20 marbles (thanks to Hafsa Burt for winning $39 last week!)  Bob Crossett reached into the bag searching for the white marble and won  $5!
