PRESIDENT JOHN’S CLUB THEME FOR THE YEAR: SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS!

President John Aufdermauer brought down the gavel at Don Jose’s in Castro Valley, and asked Jeff Moore to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

THOUGHT(s) FOR THE DAY - From Bernie Kempen: Something he learned from his son . . . you had to be there!

SINGING WITH(out) CETA - Dan Ortiz led us in “This is My Country!”

 

VISITORS - Dave Sharp (Oakland Rotary), Tommy Gee (our Hawaiian visitor), Bob Randall (Berkeley Rotary), Trish Grimmer (guest of Bob Randall as she lives in Castro Valley), Dale Huemoeller (new Redwood Christian Elementary Principal and retiring InterAct school sponsor), and Erin McGrath (new Redwood Christian Middle School and High School Assistant Principal and new InterAct school sponsor).

 

SAL TEDESCO MEMORIAL HELLO SONG - Dan Willits was tremendous!  Great Job, Dan!

REPORT ON BANYON HOUSE FENCE PROJECT - Thanks to Gary Bosley, check out the pictures of the “Fence Building” project from April 19, 2014!  Extremely well done - both fence and pictures!

MAY 10 - ROWELL RANCH RODEO PARADE - May 10 - Rowell Ranch Rodeo Parade - Theme “Castro Valley Rocks!” Co-Chair TL Baily confirmed that we WILL have the Wells Fargo Stagecoach this year!

PAYING IT FORWARD - None today

PROGRAM - Our program today was our very own 2013 Camp RYLA leaders!  We were blessed by four outstanding young leaders: Michelle Timm and Susan Nam from Castro Valley High School and John Luke Saake and Alexis Story from Redwood Christian High School.  All four were so thankful for the CV Rotary Club’s sponsorship sharing their stories of confidence gained, challenging workshops, learning new leadership styles and how to encourage others, band and choir and “Families.”  Another tremendous payback to our CV Rotary investment in tremendous young adults!

LOOKING FOR THE WHITE MARBLE - With $111 and 7 marbles, John Courtney reached into the sack and won . . . $5!
