President Dr. Heidi brought down the gavel at Don Jose’s in Castro Valley, announced it was two days after Paul Harris’ 145th Birthday (1868-1947) plus Kindergarten and Librarian Day. Bill Nott was asked to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

An Elementary School Teacher had twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are first-graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!

REPEAT - Alan West announced that we need a new member of the Endowment Board, so that selections can be made for scholarships. Bill Nott was nominated and unanimously voted to be the new member of the Endowment Board.

Kern Lewis sold several at our meeting today. Get them before Mother’s Day! $10 gets you a great card and is tripled by Bill Gates providing 16 inoculations against Polio! What a deal!

5170 DISTRICT CONFERENCE WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS! Dr. Heidi shared some stories and ideas.

PAYING IT FORWARD
$20 Dan Willits paid it forward for Dwight Perry and those who worked with him to provide an outstanding Golf Tournament Thursday, April 9th!
$xx Dwight Perry recognized John Aufdermauer, Alan West, Bonnie Best and Margie Ramos for their assistance with the District Conference Golf Tournament.
$50 Bob Shayler for a successful operation on his esophagus celebrated his doctors plus Bill Nott for stepping in and handling Bob’s duties during his absence.

PROGRAM - Today’s program was John Rosenberg from Compassion and Choices. It is an organization that is working on End-of-Life rights. The presentation was informative and provided for a lot of lively discussion.

LOOKING FOR THE MOLAR WITH THE GOLD GLITTER FILLING DONE “JUST FOR US” BY DR. HEIDI, and with $34 and 18 teeth in the bag, KJ Page’s ticket was drawn and she reached in and . . . won $5!
