The Castro Valley Rotary Club Community Foundation was incorporated in 2022. It is a 501 (c) (3) Charitable Organization.

The Foundation's finances and operations are separate from those of Rotary Club of Castro Valley, and are managed by an elected Foundation Board of Trustees and Officers.
The Foundation reports annually to the members of the Rotary Club of Castro Valley at a regular Club Meeting. At this annual meeting, the members of the Rotary Club of Castro Valley elect new Foundation Trustees with expiring terms. The newly seated Foundation Trustees then votes separately for its Officers.
Annually, once the unrestricted funds (i.e. endowment) of the Castro Valley Rotary Club Community Foundation reaches $100,000, the Foundation give 2% of the endowment solely for charitable causes for inside of, and for, the Castro Valley Community, as determined by the Rotary Club of Castro Valley. That percent increases to 3.5% once the Foundation endowment exceeds $1,000,000.
