Healthy Parks Healthy People
Mona Koh and Morgan Guenther
Mona Koh, EBRPD Community Relations Manager, and Morgan Guenther, EBRPD Naturalist, presented an overview of the Healthy Parks Healthy People program, which includes three major components:
In her presentation, Morgan focused on the in-person and digital education that EBRPD provides as well as the wide range of nature activities.
 
SPECIAL EVENT:  On September 18, EBRPD will be celebrating the 2021 International Day of Peace at Lake Chabot Park.  Everyone is encouraged to participate.  More information here.
 
The Healthy Parks Healthy People program is a multifaceted program serving all members of the community that it is not possible to cover all parts of the program in this newsletter.  Please watch the video of the presentation with the link below and use the links to the EBRPD website to learn more.
During the meetings, there were announcement regarding
  • The status of the former Rotary Exchange Students from Afghanistan and their families as well as efforts local to assist them and how you can help.  View here.
  • Details on the Breathing for Life (BFL) dedication trip to Ethiopia in October.  There is still space to join the trip.  View here.
  • Information on the 2021 Castro Valley Restaurant Walk on September 21 including the purchase of tickets.  View here.
  • The postponement of the September Mixer.
  • The Club BBQ on September 28.  Details will be emailed to members.
  • The recommendation to re-appoint Bruce Johnson, Dan Willits, and Ray Wallace for another term on the Castro Valley Rotary Endowment Board and to re-elect them as President, Vice President/Treasurer, and Secretary respectively.  Margie Ramos read a thank you note from one of the scholarship recipients.  View here.
