Considerations for Consumers & Businesses in the Face of Significant Inflation in the Economy - Bryce Sonsteng
After thanking Rotarian Carol Wilke for assisting with the presentation, Gary Bosley introduced Bryce, a Research Analyst at Mirador Capital Partners, a Registered Investment Advisor in Pleasanton, who researches economic cycles, macro-economic risks, and public software companies.  Additionally, Bryce serves as an Investment Analyst at Tri-Valley Ventures, an early-stage venture fund focused on software, life sciences and deep tech companies.   
Using detailed graphs and charts, Bryce started with an explanation of Modern Monetary Theory and moved on to review interest rates and addressed  “synthetic movement of the bond market” relative to world-wide inflation.
the rises and falls in inflations, and its correlation with changes in the CPI changes.  Bryce emphasized now is not the time to buy debt, but to stay invested or stay the course with current investments.

Rotarian of the Month: Elizabeth Crocker
At the June 7th meeting, President Dwight Perry recognized Elizabeth Crocker as Rotarian of the Month for May and announced that Elizabeth had earned her Blue Badge in near record time. At the time, we did have a photo or the press release that you can read here.  Congratulations to Elizabeth for her Service Above Self!
 
New Member: Misty Short
President Dwight and Membership Chair Ceta Dochterman welcomed the Club’s newest member Misty Short from Classy Canine's Wiggle Rumps and presented her Red Badge.  Misty entry in the Rodeo Parade won both the Non-Equestrian Sweepstakes Award and the Open Float Division Award.  Please take time to introduce yourself to Misty.
 
 
14th Annual Castro Valley Car Show
Car Show Chair Dave Sadoff announced that there are over 420 entries for the Show on June 18th and reviewed the details of the day including the need for additional volunteers.  This event has the potential of becoming a signature Club event.
 
 
President Dwight:  Anniversary & Presidential Demotion
Dwight and Barbara Perry celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary on June 18, the date of the Castro Valley Car Show.  Members cheered Dwight for his anniversary and 53 years of dedication to Rotary, including two-terms as President of the Rotary Club of Castro Valley. In recognition, Dwight donated $109 to the Club.   Don't forget President Dwight's Demotion on June 28 (no lunch meeting) at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo Park at 5:00 - 8:00 pm.
