East Bay Regional Park District Parks, Projects & Operations

Dennis Waespi, East Bay Regional Park District Board of Directors, Ward 3 will discuss the parks in Ward 3, which includes Castro Valley as well as describe current EBRPD projects and operations.

Dennis Waespi was elected to the Board of Directors in November 2014. He worked at the East Bay Regional Park District in a variety of positions for 38 years, beginning in 1974. Director Waespi served on the Castro Valley Sanitary District Board of Directors from 1999 to 2011 and on the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District Board of Directors from 2008 to 2014. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, the Alameda County Source Reduction and Recycling Board, and the Alameda County Parks, Recreation, and Historical Commission.

Director Waespi is currently a member of the Alameda County Fire Advisory Commission and the Castro Valley Sanitary District Community Advisory Committee. He is married, resides in Castro Valley and hikes daily in Lake Chabot Park.

Director Waespi represents Castro Valley, a portion of Fremont, most of Hayward, and Union City. Regional Parks in Ward 3 include Anthony Chabot, Cull Canyon, Don Castro, Dry Creek/Pioneer, Garin, Hayward Shoreline, Lake Chabot, a portion of Pleasanton Ridge, Quarry Lakes, and Vargas Plateau.
