The Rotary Club of Castro Valley prides itself in actively supporting the Castro Valley Community. Our Community Grants Program is our annual solicitation of requests for grant applications from local community organizations. Funds raised through our 3 major annual fundraisers - the Valley Blues Festival, Chili Cook-Off and Texas Hold-Em tournament - are distributed back to community organizations in the form of grants ranging from $500 to $2500. Some of the organizations that have benefitted from Castro Valley Rotary Grants are the Castro Valley Unified School District and various school groups and programs, the Castro Valley Arts Foundation, Boy Scouts, Castro Valley Sports Foundation, Redwood Christian Schools, Music For Minors, FESCO, HARD, Save Our Schools and many others. The grant applications are submitted in the fall, reviewed by our project selection committee, approved by our board of directors and checks are awarded throughout the year.
