Carol graduated from San Jose State University and became an international buyer . . . she is now in real estate with her husband at JBlack & Associates (www.youronepercentsolution.com) and works out of their home to hold down expenses . . . Carol just got back from a safari to Kenya and Tanzania . . . she loves movies and loves to hike! Welcome, Carol!

President Hafsa honored Dawn Ortiz as our February CV Rotarian of the Month for her GREAT work on the Rotary Speech Contest! Congratulations, Dawn!

Steve shared that SOSCV was the recipient of a $12,000 anonymous donation plus received a sponsorship from Dan Willits of Direct Floors Carpet One of Castro Valley!

10 - CHILI COOK-OFF REPORT: The event, once again, will be the night
before the parade. Kern Lewis is the chair and encouraged everyone to
sign up for what they would like to do as early as possible . . . all
need to be involved . . . more information to follow!
MAY 11 - ROWELL RANCH ROTARY PARADE REPORT: The committee had their
first meeting last week . . . the theme for the 2013 Parade is the
2012-13 Rotary International theme: Peace through Service.

CV ROTARY PROJECT/THEME FOR 2012-13
Environmental Advocacy under Clean Up the World's global campaign is our
Club project/theme for 2012-13. Green-build is coming to San
Francisco, Bay Area in November. President Hafsa encourages everyone,
if he/she gets a chance, to attend or just visit the expo to see
innovations that can help our planet.

Today we discussed our Club’s Five-Year Plan led by Cliff
Sherwood . . . tremendous job . . . lots of great ideas were shared and
old ones reviewed . . . such as signs in local hotels stating when our
Rotary Club meets and sponsoring youth teams and robotics team, Rotary
Youth Exchange and Summer Exchange . . . and much, much more!
LOOKING FOR THE WHITE MARBLE: $79 and 15 marbles - $5 won by Swight Perry.
