PRESIDENT JOHN’S CLUB THEME FOR THE YEAR: SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS!

President John Aufdermauer brought down the gavel at Don Jose’s in Castro Valley, and asked Gary Bosley to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.        

President John let all present know that we have a project going on when we will be replacing the fence at Banyon House, a FESCO facility please confirm attendance with President John!

THOUGHT(s) FOR THE DAY – Bruce Johnson from Winston Churchill: All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.

SINGING WITH CETA - Today Ceta blessed us with a poem that she read with passion and timing.  Great job!

VISITORS - Alan West introduced Brian Burns, Duane Degner and Bill Mulgrew!
HELLO SONG - Ben Gurule led us inspirationally!
SAL’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE - Ben Gurule reported that the afternoon was quite the celebration as Sal was remembered by so many friends, including many CV Rotarians . . . Sal’s sons remembered their Dad and Ben led everyone present in the Hello Song . . . great job, Ben!
PAUL HARRIS AWARD - Ceta Dochterman was presented a Paul Harris Society Award by Dwight Perry - $1000 per year commitment . . . Dwight is recruiting others to join Ceta!

COOKIES BY BOBBIE FOR CV ROTARY - President John’s Bride Bobbie bakes cookies.  Good cookies.  Cookies she sells and then donates the profits to CV Rotary and then gets her employer, Chevron, to match.  Today we received a check for $200 . . . that will be matched by Chevron . . . Thanks to the Cookie Lady!

TEXAS HOLD’EM POKER TOURNAMENT - TIME IS CLOSING IN- Masonic Lodge - THIS IS OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISER AND FUNDS MANY OF OUR PROJECTS - Dinner and Tournament - WE NEED PRIZES AND PLAYERS . . . $200 buy-in . . . sign-ups are on-going . . . PANCAKE PUTT-PUTT - Golfland - sponsors and players will be needed. Pancake putt putt: Bill
Nott passed out tickets. Please sell tickets $15 each or $50 for four. The putt putt will be on. Please sell
hole sponsorships ($100 each or $200 for one on each course). Please also collect raffle prizes. Fliers and
posters ready next week.  (Note from Bruce the COG Scribe: My grandkids love this event!)

DISTRICT CONFERENCE, the Dolce Hayes Mansion, San Jose.  Part of the celebration will be remembering Rotarians from our District who have passed away this year, including our precious Mr. Short and Mr. Tedesco.
CHILI COOK-OFF - May 9 - Rowell Ranch Rodeo Grounds - Prizes are $500, $200 and $100. Repeat - We will need a new chair for next year since kern will be President-Elect.
ROWELL RANCH RODEO PARADE - Rowell Ranch Rodeo Parade - Theme “Castro Valley
Rocks!” Co-Chair TL Baily confirmed that we WILL have the Wells Fargo Stagecoach this year!
