PROGRAM - Our eighth program of President Dr. Heidi’s year was . . .  Brad Howard, Rotary International Director-Elect 2015-16, spoke on "Why Rotary?"  Brad was our District Governor in 2002-03.
Brad was both encouraging and motivating in his presentation stating that although Rotary International is holding its own, membership in the United States has dropped from 485,000 to 340,000 members over a recent ten-year period.  However, we are growing elsewhere in the world.  Internationally, Rotary International “hit the wall” with 1.2 million members in 1997, the still have 1.2 million members. During that time, new members have joined, and the same number have left the organization. Rotary International has been actively working to understand why people join, why they leave, and how to keep Rotary relevant, especially to younger members. Surprisingly, the primary motivation for joining a Rotary Club is NOT service: it is friendship.
Thanks, Brad!
LOOKING FOR THE MOLAR WITH THE GOLD GLITTER FILLING DONE “JUST FOR US” BY DR. HEIDI - With the $81 and 12 molars in the bag, Brad Howard reached into the ticket container and pulled out Ray Wallace’s ticket.  Then Ray reached into the bag searching for the white molar free from decay with golden sprinkles and won . . . $5.00 for pulling a white tooth free of decay but lacking golden sprinkles!  Had Ray pulled out a decayed tooth, he would have had to pay $5.00!
